Butcher benefits from VariCool
A traditional butchers based near Wolverhampton has seen
the VariCool refrigeration system transform its business.
Terry Pigotts Ltd, is a village butchery
based in Albrighton, which also sells cooked
meats, fresh fish, vegetables, bakery
products, dairy and other groceries.
The VariCool, enables a variety of
products to be stored safely and in close proximity, with sandwiches, cooked foods, raw meats and dairy all being stored in the same unit.
Terry Pigott, the proprietor explains, "The versatility and convenience of the VariCool has been hugely beneficial to the company, and is exactly what we need to store and have easy access to our diverse range of products."
Temperatures can be adjusted at 1°C
increments, depending on the product within the drawer, so during the summer BBQ season a drawer that was previously a freezer can be used to keep burgers and kebabs chilled. Terry continues, "The ability to change the temperatures means that in one unit we basically have four separate fridges, freezers or chilled storage solutions."
The VariCool drawers can be removed
from the base unit and easily transported, acting in essence as a giant cool box. The company run a weekly delivery service in the local area using the drawers as chilled storage units. Terry says, "The ability to use the drawers during our delivery round has been really useful, saving the expense of refrigerated transport."
A filter under the airgap prevents sawdust, which is traditionally scattered on the floor, from clogging up the condenser fans. Terry explains, "The Adande VariCool was recommended to me as a versatile and multifunctional refrigeration unit which would suit all my business needs".
